WordPerfect had been the leader in word processing since the early 1980s. They researched its use in offices and designed the product to fit the needs of the users. It was expensive, but worth the price for its reliability. [The book "Almost Perfect" describes their operations in the 1980s.] The Standard Edition includes Word Perfect, Quattro Pro, Presentations, and Envoy. The later version (Suite 7) contains more features for Windows 3.1 and is more smoothly integrated. This product supports and accesses other file formats. Word Perfect was long famous as the most professional word processor in DOS, but lost its lead with the shift to Windows 3.1.
